Vegan Product Certification Requirements
- Animal testing of any kind is unacceptable, including animal feed trials, nutritional studies, or clinical trials where animals are not "mistreated, injured or killed".
- Culture medium should not be of animal origin.
- It should not contain dairy products.
- The use of products belonging to any animal species is not allowed.
- Documents related to the harvesting of plant components (eg palm oil, cocoa, etc.) are not requested.
- No animal genes are allowed, but non-animal GMOs are allowed.

- If sugar is an ingredient, documentation must be provided from the sugar producer showing that it has not been filtered with bone charcoal. If the liquid is a flavoring ingredient, documentation must prove that no animal by-products are used for clarification or defoaming, in addition to the bone charcoal documentation.
- If the main product or ingredient is beer, wine, liquor, vinegar or fruit juice, a statement is required showing that no animal by-products are used as a clarifying or filtering agent.
